Alternative Technologies
Alternative wastewater treatment systems utilize technologies other than the septic tank and/or drainfield components typical of a conventional septic system. Alternative technologies, or alternative systems, protect public health, comply with strict water quality and treatment standards, and sustain the environment in areas where large-scale centralized wastewater collection and treatment is not economically feasible.
