State Onsite Regulators Alliance (SORA)

SORA Logo

In 1999, the National Small Flows Clearinghouse (NSFC) initiated an effort to support information exchange among state onsite regulators across the U.S. What started out as an annual face-to-face meeting among onsite regulators, quickly evolved into an annual conference for state, regional, and federal regulators and industry representatives to discuss the latest in research, regulations, and decentralized wastewater treatment technology. In 2009, SORA adopted bylaws formalizing the organization as one of the nation’s steward organizations for the advancement of decentralized wastewater. Today, the State Onsite Regulators Association (SORA) is a member-funded association dedicated to protecting public health and the environment by leading the onsite wastewater regulatory industry.
