Any project that evaluates a technology,
system, or practice to demonstrate viable technological and/or managerial solutions that
address onsite and small community wastewater needs can be considered
"demonstration" in nature. Although each demonstration project may be unique in
its individual objective(s), the common goal is to protect human health and the
environment.
The NODP(National Onsite Demonstration Program) will
be collecting information on demonstration projects
that meet this criteria: design flow does not exceed
1 million gallons per day onsite system serves 10,000
people or less Information in this database will include
(but not be limited to): project objective(s); contacts;
funding source(s); site location(s) and conditions;
demonstrated technologies; and monitoring/management
program(s).
The database will provide information for a number of
purposes. For example, it will enable those interested
in setting up their own demonstration projects to connect
with others who have done so, or provide contacts for
those interested in obtaining more information on a
new or modified technology being demonstrated outside
of their county or state. Additional information can
be obtained by contacting people involved in a specific
project to discuss issues such as design, construction,
performance, operation and maintenance, monitoring,
and management of technologies demonstrated.
If you are an owner, operator, manager, regulator,
researcher, or otherwise involved in a domestic wastewater demonstration project, you can
help others meet their wastewater needs by providing information about your demonstration
project to the NODP.
Frequently
Asked Questions
- Any project that evaluates a technology, system, or practice to demonstrate viable
technological and/or managerial solutions that address onsite and small community
wastewater needs can be considered demonstration in nature. Although each demonstration
project may be unique in its individual objective(s), the common goal is to protect human
health and the environment. The National Onsite Demonstration Program (NODP) will be
collecting information on those demonstration projects that serve single family
residences, clusters of homes and/or businesses, and small communities with populations of
less than 10,000 people or, less than 1 million gallons per day.
- The newest addition to the NODP extensive computer databases is the Demonstration Projects Database. The
Demonstration Projects Database is designed to house a wide range of information on as
many domestic wastewater demonstration projects across the U.S. as we can locate.
Information in this database will include (but not be limited to):
Project objective(s)
Contacts (designer, installer, etc.)
Funding source(s)
Site location(s) and conditions
Demonstrated technologies
Monitoring/management program(s)
- The database will provide information for a number of purposes. For example, it will
enable those interested in setting up their own demonstration projects to connect with
others who have done so, or provide contacts for those interested in obtaining more
information on a new or modified technology being demonstrated outside their county or
state. Additional information can also be learned by contacting the individual projects
directly on issues such as: design, construction, performance, operation and maintenance,
monitoring, and management of technologies demonstrated.
- The members can generate reports from the Demonstration Projects Database to meet their
specific informational needs. The generated reports will include
information on the overall project (if there is more than one) and specific information on
each individual project such as contacts, demonstrated technologies, site conditions,
general system information, etc.
- To fully serve the nation, the NODP seeks information on a variety of technology and
management systems across the country. If you are an owner, operator, manager,
regulator, researcher, or involved with a domestic wastewater demonstration project(s), you
can help others meet their wastewater needs. Just complete the online form about your demonstration project.
