WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION
This workshop will highlight
innovative funding options and strategies for reducing the environmental
impacts of stormwater discharges in small communities. This is an
outstanding opportunity to learn strategies to get citizens involved
and important aspects of implementing MS4 issues from exceptional
presenters. Co-sponsors will host national experts at the free,
one-day workshop.
Andrew J. Reese, PE, PH is vice president and principal engineer
at AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee.
Over the last 25 years, he has earned a reputation for being a national
expert in National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System and stormwater
program development and implementation. Andrew has published more
than 45 papers and articles and is the co-author of the best-selling
textbook Municipal Stormwater Management. He is also a favorite
instructor at seminars across the U.S.
Steve Cole and Tom Brankamp from Woolpert Engineering will discuss
their experience working with the Northern Kentucky Sanitation District
Storm Water Management Program, where 33 communities joined together
into one district to jointly administer their MS-4 permits.
The Morgantown Utility Board will discuss lessons learned from two
years of implementing a stormwater utility and will touch on funding
opportunities for MS4s in West Virginia. Sherry Wilkins, MS4 permit
writer for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection,
will explain what the agency expects in MS4 annual reports.

PARKING
Recommended location: The WVU Coliseum Parking Lot at the intersection
of Route 705 and the Monongahela Blvd/Route 7/Route 19 is free and
open to the public. Free WVU Shuttle Buses depart the Coliseum Blue
Gate for the COMER Building/ Engineering PRT Station every 10 minutes
between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. Participants will have a short
walk to the WVU NRCCE.
There is a short-term pay-parking lot at the 4-way stop intersection
on Evansdale Drive between the NRCCE Building and the WVU Greenhouse.
Parking is $1 per hour. Please do not park in a permit only lot.
Tickets are issued several times per day and fines exceed $10.
Handicapped parking spaces are provided at the NRCCE.
