Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO)
ASTSWMO focuses on the needs of state hazardous waste programs, non hazardous municipal solid waste, and industrial waste programs, recycling/minimization/reduction programs, Superfund/State cleanup programs, and underground storage tank and leaking underground storage tank programs.

Illegal Dumping Prevention Project
The Region 5 office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established an Illegal Dumping Prevention Project. You may download two useful documents:
Illegal Dumping Prevention Guidebook and
Illegal Dumping Economic Assessment (IDEA) Model.

Decision Maker's Guide to Controlling Litter and Illegal Dumping
This National Center for Environmental Decision-Making Research site offers Controlling Litter and Illegal Dumping, a 75-page guide that you may download.

The guide contains information about characterizing the problem, determining objectives, identifying constraints, reviewing existing laws, examining enforcement, and considering control options.

Global Recycling Network (GRN)
GRN is an electronic information exchange that specializes in the trade of recyclables reclaimed in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) streams, as well as the marketing of eco-friendly products.

Keep America Beautiful
Keep American Beautiful, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose network of local, statewide, and international affiliate programs educates individuals about litter prevention and ways to properly manage waste, including establishing environmental courts.

Municipal Solid Waste
This EPA site provides information about recycling and municipal solid waste disposal. It includes a list of links for recycling everything from aluminum, to plastics, and glass.

National Recycling Coalition (NRC)
The NRC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing and improving recycling, as well as source reduction, composting and reuse, NRC provides technical information, education, training, outreach and advocacy services to its members in order to conserve resources and benefit the environment.

Reed, Stowe, and Yanke, LLC
Reed, Stowe, and Yanke, LLC, a private consulting firm, has developed a number of publications dealing with solid waste issues, including
How to Establish and Operate An Environmental Enforcement Program, which covers creating, enforcing, and managing an anti-illegal dumping program, and

PA CleanWays
PA CleanWays is a statewide nonprofit organization that tackles illegal dumping issues. There are chapters in 20 Pennsylvania Counties. Information includes cleanup, prevention strategies, and education.

Tribal Association on Solid Waste Management and Emergency Response (TASWER)
TASWER is national organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the health and environment of Indian and Alaska Native communities. Through government to government partnerships, TASWER seeks to ensure that environmental policies address and integrate the needs and values of tribal solid waste, emergency response, and Superfund issues.
